NO Happy Ending!

I cant listen to this song without ending up in floods of tears. (doesn't help when you have the album and play it over and over and over).

It's our song for "Grandma". our special song, When we hear it, we know Grandma is watching and hearing us!

Honestly, I do believe in this stuff, when I think of my dad, his song always comes on the radio (I have proof...Jackie witnessed it!!) and when we talk of Grandma, this song ALWAYS comes on the radio too (we being the 2 boys and me!)

This morning, while we were on the way to school, Aaryn was telling us how much he missed Grandma , We were waiting at the round-about, giving way to traffic, a butterfly flew in front of the car windscreen, Aaryn said matter of factly, DONT run over Grandma will you,? So there I was, sitting, waiting for the butterfly to flutter off, (with no doubt, very cross drivers behind me!) As Madame Butterfly flew off, this song came on and the 3 of us just looked at each other. VERY SPOOKY MOMENT!

You know, She said she was coming back as a Butterfly and she has!

So next time you see a butterfly, be careful what you say or do in front of it, it could be Heather, making sure your ok!

and here she is , doing what she LOVED to do...SCRAPBOOKING!!! (This will be the last sooky post I make, I hope!!)

This is the way you left me, I'm not pretending. No hope, no love, no glory, No Happy Ending. This is the way that we love, Like it's forever. Then live the rest of our life, But not together. Wake up in the morning, stumble on my life Can't get no love without sacrifice If anything should happen, I guess I wish you well A little bit of heaven, but a little bit of hell This is the hardest story that I've ever told No hope, or love, or glory Happy endings gone forever more I feel as if I feel as if I'm wasted And I'm wastin' everyday This is the way you left me, I'm not pretending. No hope, no love, no glory, No Happy Ending. This is the way that we love, Like it's forever. Then live the rest of our life, But not together. 2 o'clock in the morning, something's on my mind Can't get no rest; keep walkin' around If I pretend that nothin' ever went wrong, I can get to my sleep I can think that we just carried on This is the hardest story that I've ever told No hope, or love, or glory Happy endings gone forever more I feel as if I feel as if I'm wasted And I'm wastin' everyday This is the way you left me, I'm not pretending. No hope, no love, no glory, No Happy Ending. This is the way that we love, Like it's forever. Then live the rest of our life, But not together. A Little bit of love, little bit of love Little bit of love, little bit of love [repeat] I feel as if I'm wasted

And I'm wastin' everyday This is the way you left me, I'm not pretending. No hope, no love, no glory, No Happy Ending. This is the way that we love, Like it's forever. To live the rest of our life, But not together.

SMILE, your on candid camera!!!

We hang the dog leashes outside the sliding doors, always ready for a quick escape walk when needed.

For the last few days, every time we've gone to get the leashes, they are gone, not kept in their place, but usually up the back of the house, near the shed, sometimes hidden behind something. Naturally, the boys plead their innocence and being the caring parents we are, knowing our boys, we don't believe them LOL

Not 5 minutes ago, I was sitting here, in blogland, minding my own business, when something caught my eye. I looked out the window to see this happening.......

dog 1..HMM what are you up to??

dog (1) 2.. Standing on rear legs to get the leash undone

dog (2) 3..Running away to hide the leash!

I hadn't even seen him take the first one! I mean, I know Tyson is lazy and hates his walk BUT to blame the boys for hiding the leashes is unforgivable LOL.

excuse the pics, I've no batteries in my camera so used the phone LOL and couldn't open the screen door for fear of losing the evidence distracting the dog!

Whilst still on the subject matter of dogs..(once again, excuse photo, taken through the screen door!)

dog (3)

when do you think this dog will explode??

how many pups do you think she'll have?

I'm not sleeping well at all, waiting for this darling dog of mine to whelp and make me a nanna!! I swear if her teets get any bigger, she'll be needing a bra ROFL, the boys say it's 'obscene'!,

when she lies down, she has the roundest fattest belly, so they cant be too far away!! I hope we have more  success with this litter than we did the last and that all pups survive!!..

very Profound!

Friday morning, on our way to school, we were listening to Mark and Caroline, they were doing a story on a little girl on the Sunshine Coast called Jessie Walker, who, on her 6th Birthday was diagnosed with a very aggressive cancer of the kidney that has now spread to her lungs. People were phoning in donating cash and one listener donated a car for them to drive to Brisbane for chemo treatment. It was terribly heartbreaking to hear the story of this family and the boys were listening intently.

Cameron asked how could a child, who doesn't smoke, get cancer. He then expressed his concern for his sister, who thinks she's a chimney! His own Grampy, who had suffered with lung cancer and emphysema, would He get it? Would mum or dad get it? How do Animals get it? Really quite interesting questions he was asking.

So we ended up in deep conversation about the perils of smoking and how it only contributes to cancer etc. I had to explain to him, how, even if you haven't ever smoked you can still get cancer, how it's hereditary etc. It's funny,(not funny ha-ha) how children think you can only get cancer from smoking because that's what advertising tells them.

I told him all about my Nanna Kath, who in 1965 was diagnosed with Leukaemia and how my last memory of her, on the 5th November 1968, was as we were leaving to emigrate for Australia, we visited her at the hospital, children weren't allowed in for fear of catching this dreadful disease, so she stood at the window of the sanitarium (that's where they put cancer patients in those days) waving goodbye and crying. No goodbye hugs, no kisses, just a wave from a window about 6 floors up. I was only 7 at the time and I remember it as if it were yesterday. (this is leading somewhere lol).

I went on to tell him, how proud I was of my Nanna, because in those days, cancer killed, there was no way out, not like today. BUT my Nanna, believed in the doctors, so she agreed to be a human guinea pig and let them trial this new treatment they had invented called Chemotherapy. That was in the days, when they needed to use humans to see if it would be ok. She selflessly agreed so it would help other people. It worked and she didn't die until 1976. I know she was only one in thousands, but she was our one, and for that, I am proud!

He took it all in, listening, asking a question here and there, nodding, for a moment, he seemed just too grown up, just to wise, it was weird having this very in-depth conversation with a 12 yr old. MY 12 yr old!

All of a sudden, in his profound infinite wisdom He looks at me and says..

Now I get it, Cancer is like a serial killer, it doesn't care who it takes, it just kills for the sake of killing someone. It doesn't care if someone loves that person or not, or how old that person is. or if that person is rich or poor. If your on the same path that the serial killer is on, it'll get you! It just wants to kill for it's own gratification.

AND in that instant, I knew he was absolutely correct!

WOW!!! God's work is amazing sometimes!

A rare thing indeed for me this morning was that  I was able to go to watch a complete soccer game! It was great, I loved every minute of it, even if the kids didn't win their match.

I was kicking myself because I forgot to take my camera and for once there was something worth photographing, then I remembered I had a camera on my phone, so took this amazing photo.

Image002

I swear, you could see both ends of the bottom rainbow, if you look close, you can see on the left where it disappears into the goal and on the right you can just see it past the light post disappearing into the trees I should have got off my fat bottom and gone to look for that infamous pot of gold, but seriously, it was way too cold LOL. I do wish I had my camera, it would have taken a better pic. I've never seen such a clear double rainbow in my life, it was rather surreal and looked fantastic as it sort of hung over the top of the kids as they were playing. It was visible for a good 45minutes then sort of just disappeared!

Yes indeed, God put on a good display today!

(I have had to manually adjust the size of the pic so I hope it hasn't pixilated too much for Mr Blogger!)

A new love

Yes it's true, as of yesterday, I have a new love in my life..My new love, is ever so smooth and a little nutty, oh yes indeed, I can't get enough, no, not enough !

FRANGELICO a hazelnut liqueur OH MY...heavenly for sure..even on it's own, it's smooth and ever so delish.

frangelico

The bottle resembles a monk, complete with his little corded belt, its way too cute (well as cute as a bottle can be!).

I read about this drink in my 2nd love of the weekend. DONNA HAY magazine.. There was a cocktail recipe that had my taste buds tingling and off I ran (ok, drove) to the grog shop and bought a bottle (ok, a large bottle) of Frangelico, then off to coles to buy the other, minor ingredients..ginger beer and limes. I already had a freezer full of ice!

SO, I then, opened the bottle..HEAVENLY aroma's hazelnuts and caramel..oh my....poured the heavenly mix over the ice, squeezed in half a lime and topped up with ginger beer, threw in a slice of lime and tasted..I HAD DIED AND GONE TO HEAVEN!!! no longer shall rum pass these lips of mine (oh ok, maybe when the Heavenly drink has gone??) I'm a bit addicted..I've already had 2 glasses tonight, but shall resist having more, One can see how one becomes an alcoholic LOL

One can also become addicted to food after reading this magazine. WHY have I not thought to buy this before? I saw it on TV, loved the look of the pie on the front cover, also loved the look of the free notebook and pencil so bought it. THE PIE WAS TO DIE FOR! (ok so that's twice I've died yesterday LOL) it was so delish that Gary had 3 helpings YES 3!!!!

Tomorrow I have the day off and it's going to be spent COOKING now for the record, I NEVER COOK, well not lately, so it's going to be apple and choc in wonton wrappers and home made apple pie and home made everything, ..

hmmm I wonder if perhaps I could just have one more Frangelico on ice?? it may make me sleep better?? lol

LOL this sounds like an advert doesn't it LOL

oh and I also bought the new Rosemount O wine, made especially for serving over ice, it's still unopened in the fridge..will open it tomorrow night and let you know if it's as good as Donna Hay says it is!!!

My Lad??

Aaryn rang our hairdresser the other night, he found her number in my mobile and took it upon himself to ring her! I heard this little conversation....

Hello?? is that Katie?? the hairdresser?

Oh Ok, well this is Aaryn, I'm Theresa's youngest son, you probably remember me.

Yes, the cute one!

WELLLLL, I'm ringing you to see if when you come here tomorrow to cut our hair, if you would mind just like, dying my hair black, then putting like, white stripes through it?

Yeah, yeah, mum said it is ok, She'll be fine with it..and how much will that be do you think?

REALLY?? is that all?? that's very cheap, book me in ok!

UM yes, I'm sure, black , i want black, white stripes made out of that bleach stuff you use..

WELLLLL I don't know if mum is available to speak to you right now..ummm *whispers* oh yeah, she's right here, do you really need to speak to her?? Just a minute..MUM..Katie is on the phone, she needs to speak to you..

ME: Katie is on our phone, I never heard it ring (giggle)

Him: Ihuyadunno (I don't know how to spell this word he uses, he sort of shrugs, I think it's meant to say I DUNNO, but sort of comes out distorted and sounds like ihuyadunno, which translated means OH POOP, i've been caught out and if i do something cute or just stupid she'll forget)

I got on the phone, trying so hard not to LOL too loudly, all I could hear was Katie laughing her head off on the other end. We both decided he would look like a Zebra if we let him have his hair black, so between the 2 of us, we persuaded him to just have his blonde fringe cut off (that was the last hair do!) and to just have blonde tips put through his hair FOR GOODNESS SAKE THIS LAD IS ONLY 10!!!!

so here is the result......

DSCF0766 (Medium) DSCF0767 (Medium)

You cant see the blonde very well, I shall have to take some outside pics. After having his hair done, he said...

You wont be able to stop staring at me know will you? I shall dazzle you with my good looks and sex appeal..

FOR GOODNESS SAKE..he sounds just like his older brother LUKE!!! (and scarily looks just like him too)...

TODAY he had his 3rd soccer match...I had to miss it AGAIN! work this time, not shopping lol. He assured me they had a great match today, it was nil all at half time, then his team scored a goal (their first!!) and were winning until the other team scored 4 LOL.. oh well..

And with much excitement he then told me "

And the best thing was mum we all got an icy pole off the coach, OH  and I got man of the match."

MAN OF THE MATCH!! so proud LOL must be the David Beckham hair do hey LOL

I Ended up with this....

DSCF0761 (Medium)

All I have to do now is......wait for the varnish to dry so I can hang it up..I wonder if Gary will notice..or should I say...I wonder how long it will take before he notices LOL

Where I bought my goodies

(for Julie) I bought the plant and all the other stuff from Target of course LOL, they are having a huge homemaker sale it finishes next Wednesday. The palm was half price $40 and there are smaller ones but not palms (I think they are dracaena?) for $30 which I'm thinking about going to buy tonight. I have to lay-by another lamp for Luke who has decided that is what he will have for his birthday. Thank God for staff discount LOL is all I can say!!

Shopping Trip = total chaos

I went shopping on Saturday morning, OK I lie, I went to Soccer on Saturday morning and somehow ended up at the shops..OK, I knew I had to go near the plaza as I had to get to the bank before closing BUT that didn't mean I had to pop into work and spend $$ did it LOL but, me being easily sidetracked, did just that. I came home with

THIS lovely black lamp that I didn't really need...DSCF0743 (Medium)

and THIS lovely artificial palm that I certainly didn't need

DSCF0745 (Medium)

And also this beautiful long vase, that once again, I didn't need

DSCF0746 (Medium)

Nothing wrong at all with all of that I guess BUT when I got home, total chaos as there was absolutely no-where to put these fine purchases. THANK GOD, Megan (Luke's girlfriend) was here, she is an interior decorator wannabe so we both got busy re-arranging furniture AND the result was Fabulous. I always thought our lounge and dining room far to small for all our furniture, but with a bit of thoughtful planning it not only fitted beautifully, BUT we somehow came out with a lot more room! I'm so happy with the placement, I just want to sit and stare! I love where the computer is now, I have a nice outlook, the dogs stare at me, I stare at them, I have seen 1 snake wriggle along the retainer wall, so now I know what they bark at!

I just realized that i've never posted pics of the new house so here goes!!

DSCF0754 (Medium) Dining room Computer near sliding door! NOTE: I have a pink ott-lite LOL i love it!!!

DSCF0747 (Medium) Lounge from the front door looking in! (the boys bedrooms and bathroom/toilet are to the left of lounge around the back of that little wall. our bedroom is on the right it comes off the lounge near the welsh dresser)

DSCF0753 (Medium) Lounge from the other end looking towards front door (the 2 wooden strips on the wall near TV will be coming down when I buy the paint! we will paint the wall behind the TV chocolate, the other wall coffee and the rest of the room 2 shades lighter than coffee, resulting in me always being hungry I'm sure)

DSCF0755 (Medium) dining looking into kitchen.

I'm painting the revolting light shades black with white rub-on's, i've nearly finished, will put the pic in when it's done!

and this is my most favourite piece of furniture, my little wooden table that I have  pics of my dad on (near the front door) I just love the carving on it!

I've had a song stuck in my head all day...ok i cant remember who sings it, I think it may be the Eurythmics (Annie Lennox) but for the life of me I cant remember..but I know for sure the words are WRONG WRONG WRONG...

And I want to, and I want to, and I want to stop this Circumcision!!

i think it should be indecision, but I think circumcision sounds much better! But ever so embarrassing when you sing it outloud in the tea-room!

WARNING...may make you giggle (it made me!)

Today a lovely little old lady comes to me (I bet she's wishing she hadn't ROFL)

Me...."Is this all for you today?"

Her...."WHAT? Am I having a Ball today?"

Me...Smile, don't worry, Do you have Fly buys?

Her....WHAT? I certainly don't think that is any of your business

Me..(a little confused) Sorry, I only asked if you had Fly buys. I assume you don't?

Her...Your very insulting, I certainly don't think you should be asking me that at all. (she's getting a bit agitated and asks to speak to my supervisor?

Me..A little bewildered at what her problem is..Calls supervisor over.

Explains I only asked if she had fly buys to which the old woman says. SHE KEEPS ASKING ME THAT, I told her it's none of her business.

The lady in line waiting is as bewildered as me. My supervisor is just staring and looking as confused as the rest of us. So I ask the woman, Excuse me, what am I saying to you.

She looks around and leans over and whispers to my supervisor..

She keeps asking me if I have FIBROIDS...

well, I'm still peeing myself laughing and haven't been able to ask anyone for their fly buys since then!!!!!!!!

Finally!!

After 10 years of going to the Paediatrician, every 3 months, Cameron has finally been given the ALL CLEAR and he no longer has to go see him.

YES he will always have Asperger's Syndrome, BUT, in the last 12 months he has learnt how to live with it and try to control his Aspy bursts (arm flapping, tics etc). Arm and hand flapping has ceased totally, the anxiety isn't so bad at all anymore (he coped very well with the house move and progress into high school). Yes he still nail bites, but then, so do I, so the doctor thinks this may be an inherited trait as most of my family bite their nails (my father was dreadful for it and so was my sister). Some of his traits, we have come to the conclusion, are just the onset of Puberty (which Cam just preened about LOL). SO with persistence and patience, we have finally jumped the biggest hurdle and onto the next!

If it becomes too much, or I feel that other aspects of the syndrome are starting to filter through, I can at anytime go see his doctor, which is reassuring to know. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry when the doctor said "Well, I think we needn't see you anymore Cameron young Chap. Your not cured, but your coping marvelously!" My biggest regret now, is not taking my camera into the doctors with me to get a photo of that huge smile when the doctor said it (and a photo of him with his doctor) oh well, we are literally over the back fence from the hospital where the paediatrics are, so we can always go visit him to get one LOL.

So it's onwards and upwards from here on in, learning to live without the medication and doctors that have been a HUGE part of our lives over a whole decade (it's exactly 10 years since Cam was diagnosed with Epilepsy and exactly 5 years since he was diagnosed with Asperger's). The doctor said he would overcome it, because he had the willpower to meet it head on AND he has! The doc also said, he would outgrow his epilepsy AND he has!

SO proud of my little man for overcoming all these obstacles in his short little life. I'm not saying it's going to be easy from now on in, LOL PUBERTY for goodness sake, Like, I've been there 3 times before with his sisters and brother LOL..but, it's a start!!!

Anything is possible if you persevere long and hard. It's hard work, but the end results are worth it. (Hmmm I'll come back to this post in 2 years LOL let you know how it works out LOL)

...........................................................................................................

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

I also want to wish my adopted mum, Heather, good luck for her 2 week stay in hospital!! She's in Brisbane having pain management. To say I'm worried sick, is an understatement, but I'm sure, with her determination, she'll be home soon, fighting fit and outlasting us all at our scrapbooking nights!

I swear that woman has the stamina of a 20yr old LOL, she is always the last one to pack up, never yawns and powers along, not like the rest of us!! LOL.

I loves you mother!!!! I'm so glad we found each other to adopt!!

GET WELL SOON OK!!

Paint me green and call me GUMBY

Will I ever learn to just smile and nod? NOPE! Tonight at work, a rather nice looking man, with blonde curly hair A customer ,came up to my register, smiled at me and said a very big WHY HELLO, HOW ARE YOU?? I smiled back and said, Very well thank you, how are you? He looks at me and says..You don't remember me do you? I stared at him for what seemed like an eternity, when it hit me, Yes I did remember him!

AHH YES, I replied confidently, You are the  Man who ordered all the Orgasmic Tshirts aren't you!! .....

OMG just paint me green and call me GUMBY

WHY OH WHY do I always get ORGANIC and ORGASMIC mixed up when behind a counter???

[The last time that happened to me, I was working in a Health food shop and a man asked if we sold Sultana's and I told him we only sold ORGASMIC ones...he said he'd take the lot!! LOL..]

SO if your after a good time...get yourself to Target and buy some organic Orgasmic Tshirts, before they all sell out LOL

THEN as if that wasn't bad enough, I nearly choked myself to death. Tonight  I thought I would wear my pen on my lanyard, because I'm sick to death of customers stealing my bloody pens always misplacing my pens, I closed the register drawer, went to turn around and nearly knocked myself out as my head spun around and down towards the counter. I had only shut the draw with the lanyard INSIDE the wretched thing. My supervisor, who witnessed the lot, nearly wet herself laughing, the customer, couldn't stand up, she was laughing too much, I just once again, died a slow undignified death, THEN, yes there is more I opened my drawer to remove the deathtrap Lanyard, and only got my shirt caught in the wretched door, sending the supervisor into uncontrolled choking! Now all this would be ok, only every time you open your register drawer for things other than transactions, a little bit of paper comes out of the docket printer with time and your employer number, so you have to write on that the reason you have opened drawer, eg, to put change in etc  The pay office staff are going to be in fits tomorrow when they read the 2 notes left behind.. 1st..Caught lanyard in drawer, had to open drawer to stop being choked!!!! (smiley face) 2nd...caught shirt in drawer, whilst removing lanyard (double smiley face)..

Ah yes, never a dull moment is there

the rest of our photo shoot!

shoot 10002 (Small) shoot 1 (Small) shoot 10001 (Small)                                                                                   I had to take photos of our photos! they were far to big to scan I did try! The one of us all measures in at 20 x 30 and the one of the boys is 10 x 20 the others are 8 x 10 so easy to scan! I have to work out how to take a better pic of them so I can have them reprinted to scrap! I will work it out, I've just got to find the time. But this will do for now, just so you can see them.

The scanned pics scanned up not true to colour either, I have to fix those!
