Birthdays and elves!

Yesterday was Cam's 12th Birthday, we hardly saw him!! he was on his new(ish) computer for most of the day, coming out every now and again to show us his new phone! I had to work for a few hours so Gary was in charge of cake and candles..yes, he remembered cake...no, he forgot candles, but Cam didn't worry. He still loved his cake!! CARAMEL MUDCAKE from the cheesecake shop (spoilt boy Today i had the grandies for a few hours while Tina and Hayley did last minute christmas stuff. I had a ball with them, taking advantage of their good behaviour, we had an elf photo shoot. Evan was the only one who wouldn't join in, he hates santa hats and elf hats so he hid inside watching tv, while we played outside with the camera. I think the pics show what fun the kids had. (amazing how cake keeps Brayden quiet LOL). Aaryn joined in too, never too old for santa fun are you!!! (and 10 isn't too old) !) (NOTE: we now have grass!!!!! our backyard looks fab, i must take pics for you all one day mustn't i LOL)

Name dropping!!!

OMG life is never dull at work..a few weeks ago it was Jamie Dunn at my registers (you remember him, his hand was always up Agro's bum LOL), last week, Tania Zaetta (who dares wins) and today...OMG OMG how i managed to NOT gape and gawp (unlike most of the customers) How i managed to NOT ask for an autograph (unlike most of the customers). HOW i managed to serve her without getting star struck..WHO?? none other than TERRI IRWIN that's who!! who incidently does most of her shopping for Bindi and Robert there, because our clothes are kid proof!!!! oh and also my most favourite FAVOURITE radio hostess in the whole world and who I have missed in the mornings, because she resigned to go into politics BUT is coming back in the New Year. WHO laughed at me when i said...OH I LOVE YOU TO BITS when are you coming back on air, i miss you so much...yes, the one and only...CAROLINE HUTCHINSON...oh yes, she is lovely!!!! OK BREATHE NOW LOL I must remember next time to grab some paper and get their autographs because well, the manager tends to get a bit testy if you ask him if you can keep their credit card slips ROFL.... Aaryn was beside himself when I told him that Terri had been in...Cam, naturally, wanted to know what the Irwins get for christmas and was surprised that they shop in a real shop and not online!!!

THEY do believe!

YES...confirmed....THEY DO BELIEVE IN SANTA...well, they do believe in dept. store santas LOL. Today we were in Myers and it all got a bit too much for Cameron, the urge was there, he couldn't resist it, I saw him have a chat to Aaryn, then they inched over to the display to have a peep, looking around incase they saw anyone from school (LOL), then it happened HE MOVED, HE GOT OFF HIS CHAIR....OMG there was no-where to run, he had them in his sights, I saw the panic in Aaryn's eyes (he's always been terrified of Santa even though he's now 10), saw Cam, pat him on the arm and tell him it will be ok...THEN HE MADE A BEELINE STRAIGHT FOR THEM, Cam, didn't flinch, looked at him and to my mortification said..
  • Hey Fatman, How's ya doin'?
  • Hello, young man, doin' good, How you doin'
  • Doin' not to bad thanks Santa. So, Dude, you givin' away free stuff to all the kids or just the babies who believe in you?(mother faints!!)
  • (laughing heartily) I'm giving them away to all good children.
  • (aaryn) hmm, that counts us out then...dig in ribs from Cam...
  • Well, Santa, you've come to the right place (hello cam, he was already here!!) We've actually been really good today and I reckon we can come in and see you. (quite the charmer my boy)

Santa sits back down and in they walk, right up to the chair..was going to get a pic but at $25 i dont think so! I saw them chatting to Santa, the lady at the camera asked me to keep them there because she had a problem with the photography and they needed a diversion..oh that's right, use my boys so other parents go mad at me, i dont think so LOL..I really dont want to ask what they talked about but they were deep in conversation for ages and Santa kept laughing very loudly and real laughter not just a fake HOHOHO. THEN they got their booty...a balloon and a lovely little canvas bag with a pack of crayons and sticker book...(which i might add, hasn't left their possession all day, they even tied them to their belts!). Felt very proud when I saw Cameron, lean forward and shake Santa's hand, thanking him profusely for his rather small gift! Aaryn, tentitively reached out and shook his hand, Turned around and yelled, I'M NOT AFRAID OF HIM ANYMORE HEY MUM!!!..then..as they came out of his grotto, Cam stopped, Turned..and said with thumb raised high...

SEE YA CHRISTMAS EVE DUDE and dont forget...(said address)....TERRIBLY EXPENSIVE PRESENTS FOR ME OK DUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!! now where did my shy? reserved little cam go, to be replaced by this loudmouthed almost 12 year old highschooler go????

He then asked WHY i didn't get his pic taken with santa, that would have been way cool...i told him it was far too expensive and we will go out to kawana and get it done there at 1/4 of the price..his reply....Does that santa give cool presents...ok, lets go see!!!!!!! (so we will go on Thursday!!! woohoo my first santa pic!!!!well aaryn's anyway lol)......

.................................................................

Aaryn has been NAGGING for over a year to get his ear pierced, today i decided ok, it could be done...so, after seeing santa i casually said to him, ok, lets go to the piercing shop and we'll get that ear pierced. What's that i see??? sheer panic?????

  • oh, it's ok mum, not today, what about we get it done on the day after xmas?....
  • It wont be open then, today is kid piercing day....
  • Well, I'll get it done on Saturday
  • Nah, we wont be here on Saturday, what say we pop in and get a price and pick out a nice stud and you can get it done right now???
  • OH it's fine mum, i dont feel like having it done today, I think I'm a bit tired, can we go home now? Do you need to do anymore shopping?? What about a coffee?? do you need a coffee??
  • NO, ok, lets just pick up my glasses and go home shall we??
  • HUGE SIGH...yes, that sounds good mum....

CALLED YOUR BLUFF BOY!!!!!

MUMZ RULE LOL.......

........................................................................................

Yesterday, I had my housewarming/christmas morning tea with all the girls..9 of us lazed around, watching the kids (all 11 of them) jump and scream in the pool, without a care in the world. The day was fantastic, we had a great day of doing nothing except eat and drink tea and cold drinks.

Mother(Heather), Jackie, Tina, Hayley, Monika, Kimberley, Monika's mother on holiday from Poland, Jenny and Moi..

I took no photo's, i think Jackie and Mother did will have to get some copies.

After everyone left, i found myself thinking how lucky I am to have these wonderful ladies as my friends. We've formed a firm bond in the 12 months or more that we've been scrapping together (actually i think it's more like 24 months if i think about it..could be even longer!). Being adopted by Heather was the best thing that has ever happened to me and I love her dearly.

If your reading this my friends..I LOVE YOU ALL....you know I do LOL...

as promised

Thought I would share a few(?) pics of Cam before and during the ceremony. He is such a clown, he insisted upon posing 'just like his brother would'.
Doesn't he look dashing in his new suit..lock up your daughters!!!!
I present to you....the graduating class of 07....and yes..they are all aliens!!. I smudged and blurred their faces because..i can LOL..The night went beautifully, the children sang *cough* divinely almost like *cough* angels and the highlight of the night was when my darling boy was awarded a certificate for overcoming all his obstacles and just behaving in class!! one very proud mother indeed, especially as his teacher gave a lovely little speech about how Cam has overcome his phobia's and learnt to live with his Asperger's and how he has come off his medication etc and now today, no one would ever guess that he even had this syndrome. Huge round of applause from the parents..Gary and I were bursting our bubbles indeed!! I have to tell you, I love his teacher this year. N was fantastic with Cam, he had a bit of a soft spot for him apparently. He used to email me weekly to 'touch base' and really worked hand in hand with me and the SEU to help Cam become the lad he is today. I would like to keep N but i dont think Gary or N's wife would like that very much LOL. I am going to miss him next year, but he has made me promise to email him regularly re: Cam's progress in High School and also to take Cam in to visit him at least 3 times during the year.
and a final pic of him with his alien friend finally glad to be out of primary school!!!!

no title cos i cant think of one!

It's been a bad week, so i'm not going to blog for a few days. Just dont feel like being the 'clown' for a few days. Still feeling really bad for my friend Maree, who's 7 yr old nephew was killed in a house fire near here on wednesday morning. Too close to home that! and now, the phone call we've been dreading to tell us that Tarsha has indeed got cancer, it's confirmed in her spleen and she's had bone marrow testing done etc to find out the extent of it. They are thinking it's in her lymph glands (nodes?) and possibly liver/kidneys and bladder. Prognosis is NOT good, Poor Sandi, she's really had a tough year with cancer. Her mother has only been out of hospital perhaps 3 months after having bowel surgery etc (they lost her a few times on the table but she soldiered on) she has colon cancer, did the chemo thing and everything looked fine then, this week she too was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer. she's elected to have oral chemo this time and surgery is NOT an option apparently! DOES THIS CANCER THING EVER STOP?????? I hate cancer, i just hate it, hate what it does to the patient and hate what it does to those who have to cope with it. HATE IT....and I hate that smoking contributes and I hate that people i love STILL smoke (yes, you know I mean YOU!!!) and I just HATE a lot of things today, I hate that I have to watch my friend go through the agony of losing her daughter, now that she has at last found her so to speak. I hate that after so many years of searching, Tarsha has finally, grown up, found happiness and started to become 'human', to have it all ripped away from her with one diagnosis. And I hate more than anything, that there isn't a damn thing I can do to make it all ok for my friend. and i think more than anything else too, that i hate that it happens at this time of the year, when we should all be filled with happiness. Even though, Sandi has told us, we are NOT to be upset about it all etc, because it's christmas, you still get that little bit of good old catholic guilt (oh yes, us catholics are good at feeling guilty!!!) just because you start to feel yourself smile, laugh or be happy. and now, i'm going to sit with my boys, count my blessings and watch bridge to teribithea with them (just listening to them laughing has made me smile a bit, i love to hear them laugh!) and try to forget for a moment of the 'horrors' of life and enjoy the NOW with them! thanks for listening (reading).. Did you know???

  • That all women have a 'pouch of Douglas'?
  • I didn't until today. My dear friend. Sandi's daughter has been in surgery all afternoon, having fluid removed from her pouch and having bits of a mass taken for biopsy.
  • Although we are trying to remain positive, after doing heaps of research, we are not expecting good news tomorrow.
  • Tarsha is only 31, married just 3 short weeks ago, with a nearly 5yr old little boy. I am trying to be positive for Sandi, just being here for her when she needs me to be and taking a backward step until she asks me to step forward so to speak.
  • Tarsha has a huge mass, so huge it has displaced her kidney and spleen, rising up from her liver and bladder, fluid in the pouch of douglas (which they have drained today). It is so bad (my opinion anyway) that her specialist, wouldn't even let her go home from his rooms yesterday, instead he admitted her immediately into the Royal Women's hospital for 'immediate' treatment. Results should be in later tonight or early tomorrow morning and depending on them, she'll be going back in for more surgery (radical surgery, by the sounds of it.)
  • Having been through all Tarsha's trials and tribulations with Sandi over the last 12 years, this has really thrown me for a 6. I feel for my friend and her family, we are more like sisters than friends, share our sorrows and happiness together, everything.
  • OK...i just needed to get all that out of my head..I have copied a bit of info about the pouch of douglas for those that would like to know what bits they have inside them!!! (AND..GO HAVE A PAP SMEAR!!!!!!! YES...TOMORROW!!!!!!!)
  • Pouch of Douglas: An extension of the peritoneal cavity between the rectum and back wall of the uterus. The term "cul-de-sac," aside from being any "blind pouch or cavity that is closed at one end," is used specifically to refer to the rectouterine pouch. From that fact comes: Culdoscopy, the introduction of an endoscope through the vagina into the cul-de-sac; Culdoscope, the viewing tube (endoscope) that is used to look into the cul-de-sac; and Culdocentesis, the aspiration (withdrawal) of fluid from the cul-de-sac. In French, "cul-de-sac" literally is "bottom of (a) sack." As early as the 13th century, a cul-de-sac was a dead-end street (or a dead-end way), a blind alley. (The third letter in "cul" is silent in French; in English it is spoken. So, in French "cul" is pronounced "ku" and in English "kul"). The rectouterine pouch is called the pouch of Douglas after the Scottish anatomist James Douglas (1675-1742) who explored this region of the female body and left his name attached to at least 3 other structural features in the vicinity.

just a quickie

I have to share this story!!!....

Today i was in charge of fitting rooms, a very important job and way serious!!! well as serious as me with my warped sense of humour can get i suppose...not many men come into the fitting rooms, deeming it 'women's territory' but one young man did..

  • Young man.....May I please take this singlet out of package to try on?
  • Me.................. Yes certainly..
  • YM ................(muffled sounds coming out of cubicle, i am so tempted to look under door lol)
  • YM.................. Excuse me??
  • ME..................Yes...(looks up as YM walks around the corner of cubicle shocking me in the process, he is not a 'small' lad, quite hefty in fact!)
  • YM.................. Does this singlet look good on me???
  • Me................... Diplomatically bursts out laughing embarrassing myself in the process...
  • YM.................. OH...Do you think it's too tight??
  • Me..................I am so sorry, um, yes, like about 4 sizes to small I would say. (aha, explains the puffing and panting from other side of door hey LOL)
  • YM................. Well i guess i better not buy it hey..
  • Me................. (sure why not, you look like an overstuffed pillow) hmmmm no best not, I'm sure we have them in bigger sizes..
  • YM............... No it's ok, thanks for being honest, most women would have said I looked good in it (a blind woman perhaps???) and then I would have bought it and been embarrassed (and you weren't embarrassed at my laughing out loud??)
  • ME............ No probs anytime....(he walks out, leaving me rolling around on the floor laughing my little head off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
  • This job is going to be so much fun i just know it!!

All that Glitters........

For Chrissy!!!! (and anyone else who wants a look LOL).. not the best pics i'm still trying to work out the camera, should have used my old faithful) the tree isn't as bare as it looks, it's got silver lights all the way through it and also beads that didn't show up in the full shot of the tree. I think the boys did a super job of arranging it this year, and i've hardly had to tweak a thing LOL (well maybe a few!) Our angel! isn't she just gorgeous in her faux fur wrap! glitter galore the tree close up of the tree! Miss Angel atop of the tree!

the joys of work LOL

It's non stop at work, things happen that well lets be honest..things that have happened could only happen to ME!! SCENARIOone: here i am, at my register, first customer for the day..2 trolley's absolutely full of all the mark-down stuff (things that were normally $80 marked down to $4 that sort of thing).. I have marked down most of his stuff when he mumbles something to me, grabs all his bags, leaves the trolleys and runs out the door..I am dumbfounded (this happens a lot!) I turn to my supervisor who happened to be behind me on a register and i just mouth to her RUNNER!! She comes to my register, where all the action is...Asks me and the girl beside me at the next register to describe man, which we do, the lady who has mysteriously appeared from behind the surfboard in the trolley, also describes man and points and says he as headed that way...The supervisor picks up phone to ring security as we have spotted said man...who then appears back at the register asking what all the fuss is...THE LADY, then says to him, oh well, they thought you were stealing all this stuff and are now calling security..I have told you before to think before you act, This is the consequence..I hope you are embarrassed...Puzzled I asked her what she was going on about..SHE WAS ONLY HIS BLOODY WIFE!!! he apparently does this alot, runs off to get a trolley and forgets to leave the parcels, she'd had enough so thought it would teach him a lesson to get into trouble..I just burst out laughing...the supervisor was in fits of laughter, we had to close my register so we could all compose ourselves. THEN because the supervisor had voided his transaction i had to start all over again..they had so much stuff it took me nearly 45 minutes to put it through as it all had to be coded manually (and they honestly had so much stuff!!!) I laughed the whole time and thanked them for not getting narky over my accusing him of stealing blah blah...They came back to the store later and apparently gave a glowing report to the supervisor about how it was a pleasure to be served by someone who smiled and made their day!! (how nice was that!!) SCENARIO 2 This one happened the following day...I am doing returns (a shit job but someone has to do it). a chinese lady comes up to me...
  • CL....Electric Toothbrushes
  • Me....Um..YES
  • CL....Electric Toothbrushes...
  • ME...ahhh yes
  • CL...you stupid girl...where do the electric toothbrushes be?
  • ME...ahh yes...they are over there, in the cosmetic department, on the 3rd rack (i put them there myself so knew exactly where they were.
  • CL..what dept..you stupid girl..i cannot see it
  • ME..(thinking well if you weren't 2ft tall you would see)..takes her to said dept and shows her toothbrushes..
  • CL...YOU STUPID GIRL...these be battery operated toothbrushes, i want ELECTRIC..what is wrong with you stupid girl..
  • ME...(holding tongue if she calls me stupid girl once more i swear i'll shove that toothbrush down her neck)...well, madam, battery operated toothbrushes are indeed electric toothbrushed as they are electronic not manual, *sigh* we dont have electric as in plug in electric here as i'm sure that if you were to plug it in you would surely be electrocuted and die (perhaps that is her plan??)
  • CL...YOU STUPID GIRL....why name a product electric if it is battery operated?? I shall go elsewhere, thank you for wasting my time...
  • ME>..*sigh, smile politely* the pleasure was all mine....watch her walk off and make note that next time i invent something to make sure i name it correctly to avoid confusion!!! oh and make sure that my name badge is correctly positioned so people will not think my name is Stupid Girl!!!!!

manic!

what a manic month! It's so busy at work i dont even have time to scratch myself lately. BUT at least it's a job and i am loving it! Finally, our cheques arrived from Dad's estate. It came with some spooky incidents though i must say! (lots of spooky things have been happening, thank GOD my friend Jackie has witnessed them too!) firstly, I had told J about an incident when i was thinking about my dad and the song that was played at his funeral came on the radio, first time i had heard it since that morning. THEN, when we were driving up our driveway for the first time, Aaryn asked if Grampy knew where we were now living, AND the song came on the radio again, I told Aaryn that yes i reckon Gramps knows where we are! Secondly. At the scrapshop, something came up in conversation and I turned to J and said, i dont think my dad would like that sort of talk, AGAIN the song came on the radio (I had already told her about the previous incidents!!) I just had to leave the shop, it got a bit too much for me! THIRDLY..my dad used to send me a card and a cheque for $30 on my birthday, he would alway's post it on my birthday and then let me know, i used to get it 2 day's later. Last year was the only year he had really missed, because he was in hospital. ANYWAY, now for the spooky part. I got a phone call off the solicitor, to tell me that the cheque would be delayed a day or 2 because he had made a mistake on the totals, That's fine, we've waited this long! He rings me back, the day before my birthday to say he had just posted it and the discrepancy was......$30...omg that freaked me out, I got the cheque 2 day's after my birthday!!!! (spoooooky with the extra $30!!).. SO yesterday, after long deliberations, i took myself shopping and bought my final birthday present off my father, something I will treasure forever. A beautiful heavy, silver necklace AND a silver anchor charm, so that when i touch it, i can think of my dad. (he was in the navy and I thought the anchor most appropriate) I had to order it in so it should be here next week, but I am wearing the chain now! The lady in the jewellers asked me if it was a xmas gift and like the idiot i am, i burst into tears when telling her i was buying it out of my inheritence! She consoled me (but gave me no discount LOL) and said it was a beautiful thing I was doing. Gary just left the shop with embarrassement, but soon came back in and sneakily laybyed a lovely ruby ring and matching ruby earings. I do hope they are for me for xmas!!! shhh i wasn't supposed to see LOL. I did take a pic of my necklace but it's still on the camera, but i'll take a better one when i get the anchor

moths and birthdays!!!

MOTHS We keep getting moths in our Laundry, someone said they were bogong moths, but i don't know if they are, they come in droves, we had 32 in there on Wednesday. Do you know how frightening they are when they all decide to swoop on you?? LOL and fly spray doesn't kill them either, NOTHING DOES!! if anyone knows what they are I'd be glad to know!
BIRTHDAY CAKE IS FUN!!!!
It's my birthday today, Keiran Say's I'm 10, so that will do!!! I had a great time with the grandies when it came time to cake time, They all helped poor 'old' nanna blow out the candles. poor Evan went to pieces when it was all blown out, so he had to have a go on his own!

I got lots of kisses off Emily and Keiran, who were insistent about spoiling their nanna! Then Miss Emily and I had a girlie moment with a bit of a heart to heart. UNTIL the cake arrived in front of us....MUD CAKE from the cheesecake shop, thanks to Poppy for remembering!!! just look at our faces LOL..how embarrassing YUMMMMMMMMMMMM how delish!!!um, well, not the most flattering pic of me i must say...(I told Tina I had a bit of cake stuck under my plate,, Miss Emily, lifted up her little plate and said, yes nanna, i have cake under my plate too...cracked me up!!) Thankfully, no photo's were taken when Emily and I had a bit of a cake fight and were both covered in chocolate icing (do you know that stuff makes your nose itch when you get it in your nostrils LOL) Emily laughed so hard, i thought she would pee on my knee ....ooh i made a rhyme LOL SPOILT SPOILT SPOILT I was today...It started last night with a little party at Tina's with Jackie, Heather (mum) Monika and Tina, the neighbours heard them singing happy birthday LOL...I was spoilt with 2 cakes, a caramel mud cake and chocolate mud cake YUMMMM...naturally i had both...

Presents galore: A beautiful oil set off Tina, Zeb and the boys for the new bathroom AND a new pair of jimjams. They had panda's on them and keiran says I'll be way smart!

Monika gave me a beautiful candle in a glass, the box is so gorgeous with a fake diamond in the lid, so i have that on display in bathroom too!

Mother gave me a beautiful Tabu perfume, talc and body spray set...JUST LOVE IT!!!

Today Gary and the boys gave me lovely glass scales for the bathroom. They are the weight watchers ones with the automatic BMI. Felt great when Aaryn declared i would now know how FAT i am!!!

Hayley and the kidlings gave me 2 bras, a red one (to wear under my work shirt!!) and a pretty pink lace one. Emily insisted on wearing the pink one, much to keiran's amusement, he wanted to do it up for her and kept stroking it LOL I asked Evan if he would like to try on the red one and he just looked at me like i had 2 heads and say NO NANNA, that was the end of that LOL

The wayward son, totally forgot, Hayley and Gary rang him and he immediately rang my phone, he didn't know that i was there when he was phoned. It was so funny, listening to him trying to worm his way out of that!! He is in Roma for the ponies apparently and his excuse was he had no phone reception ROFL...he then told me he was putting the money he OWES me into my bank, and for me to buy myself something nice for my birthday YES he was fully tanked LOL..He then sent me a very long text message, rambling on about it was his mumsy's birthday..such an idiot that boy LOL..I have informed him I shall spend the same amount of $$$$ on him as he has spent on me when it is his birthday!!!! LOL...

I was also informed that i mustn't forget Hayley's birthday in 4 weeks time!! apparently, I forgot to buy her a present last year and she's not letting me forget...actually, i didn't forget persay, I promised i would get her hair permed for her and then, forgot ROFL...so this year, i had better just get her something other than a promise hey LOL

**edited to add** I also received a lovely phone call off my brother this morning...text messages off Lise, Heather, Audrey and Chris, a phone call off Chris too!! and an email off my baby sister, (who NEVER emails me so i must be suffering from something terminal!!).

I also managed to get off work today by turning up early and being told by the supervisor that i looked 'dreadful' and to go home! I had a bit of a migraine but once i got home and slept for an hour it disappeared, so that was a good thing!! could well imagine me fainting behind a register, why that's something I would do LOL..

Bless him!

Aaryn had a phone call last night from his little friend (you know, the one whose father has that problem with his heart!! LOL), apparently Aaryn had told him that we were having a party on Saturday and he was invited, he rang up to see what he could buy me for my birthday (bless him). Got very upset when i told Aaryn to tell him there was no party but he could come to play. Mr A was overheard giving him our address..It's C***** terrorist, yes, it's over near the horsepiddle, yeah, YEAH its a terrorist, not a street. and it's way steep!

I hope the kid finds us, we live in a TERRACE!!!! bless his little heart LOL

check out chick supreme LOL

Well, i've had all the training i'm going to get apparently! 3 hours of intense playing with the register, scanning, voiding, playing with dummy credit cards etc then thrown right in the deep end with REAL customers, I survived JUST! and only one person abused me, well not abuse exactly, she smiled and said it was fine that i didn't have a 'doodad' and went off to find a register that did have one (technical talk for that little machine thing that opens cd's and dvd's etc) she came back, threw the cards and dvd at us (being the girl beside me!) and told us to go to hell and we could put the (insert very bad swear word) ing stuff back on the shelf! to which i smiled and said, thank you, have a nice evening. Thursday evening brings out the worse in people. I'm astounded at how much stuff is actually stolen from dept stores, it's been a bit of an eye opener indeed. I was put in my favorite dept at the end of my shift to do a bit of a clean up (yes, XMAS!! how did they know?? lol) and was shocked to find so many open boxes with the little dec's stolen. ANYWAY i must have done ok as they have asked me back to do 2 more shifts next week on the registers and i have to pop in before thursday to check the roster and let them know what day's i'd like overtime on!! OK enough of that lol. I had a nice little lot of visitors today, the house was packed! Jackie came over for a cuppa and then Tina and Zeb arrived with the kidlets. It was a lovely afternoon, so layback and relaxing, which is just what i needed after a hectic night of scrapping LOL got home at 3am!!! and only did 2 very small pages for a comp i'm participating in. tut tut. (and i've just realized i've left my scrapping stuff in the car AND gary is at poker so i cant scan my layouts BUGGA)., I gave Keiran and Evan some jelly bellies today (little capsules filled with sour jelly beans) they loved them, actually, Keiran loved his, Evan was totally beside himself with laughter filling nanna's mouth with them and watching her squirm as the sour hit her tongue!! I felt decidedly sick when I realized the little toad had fed me the WHOLE packet!! It was great speech therapy for him though, i wouldn't let him give me one until he had told the the proper colour and it was today that we realized he is truly a MALE!!! he would drop a bean every now and again, and if it went down my top, he would jump up and down, laughing hysterically and say, BOOBIE then would want to go looking for it, I never thought that my Boobies would cause such pleasure for anyone, who would have guessed. I'm now hoping that his Poppy never witnessed the game, as for sure, he'll be wanting to play that one at some stage AND NO WAY i'm having that ROFL..

We had tennis this morning, after only 4 hours sleep i was a little cranky, so left half way through to come home for a nanna nap which ended up being almost a coma LOL i slept for nearly 2 hours!! on the way home with Aaryn the convo went something like this -

  • Mum, how old do i have to be before i can change my name

I"M BACK!!!

did ya miss me?? i doubt it LOL lots of news..the move went very well, we are almost settled in, most of the boxes are unpacked expecially the scrapping boxes!! just have a few more things to put in the shed and all is finished. I still haven't taken pics but will get around to it soon. EVEN BETTER NEWS........ As most of you know, we own our own cleaning business and for the last 9 months i've branched out and had my own little business and contracts WELL, that is now all changed. Not only have I got a new home BUT a NEW CAREER!! yes indeed, no longer do i work for myself but now...tada...i am..working in customer service at TARGET, i started with orientation yesterday and today i have 5 hours register training. SO no more cleaning for this little black duck, even though the money was fantastic, I just felt it was time for a change! The hours will take some getting used to, i cant pick and choose anymore, but it will be lovely to get a proper wage and work in aircon LOL..I have a pretty uniform to wear! I happen to like red! I love the store, it's friendly and the staff are easy to get along with. I'm very nervous about those registers though, although my manager has assured me that if i dont like it, i can go to another dept. which, i've already told him I'll do LOL but then again, i may end up loving being on the registers who knows. I'll let you know tomorrow!!!! I have to give notice tomorrow at my lovely little job, that is going to be hard, but i've got a replacement lined up already and have told her that if it gets to much, i may help out (but then again, i may not LOL)...

YUK lol

I have been told of a new product (well not new, just re-released) for holding in dentures, not as restricting as those revolting double sided tape things (those of you with dentures know what i'm talking about!) anyway, the product is called Hold-Tite, it's a powder, that when applied to wet dentures, bonds and isn't constrictive and you dont know it's there, but it does stop your plate from falling when you laugh, sneeze etc. This morning, i liberally sprinkled my plate, thinking of other things, put plate in mouth and promptly spat it out! ONE should really check blue containers before applying. I had only grabbed some talcum powder which happened to be in a bottle similar in colour to the Hold-Tite. Well someone had put it back and moved the denture setter hadn't they..my excuse.. i'm still spitting out talc LOL... so Bev, if your reading this..take note....ROFL..

something to look forward to!!

A little voice came out of the bedroom at 7.30 this morning....
  • Mum, Mum, MUM...
  • Yes Aaryn.....

  • Do you know what i've always wanted to be when i am a grown-up?

  • Ah, no, love, what's that..
  • (voice still coming from bedroom)
  • AN UNDERWEAR MODEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i collapsed with laughter as he jumps out of his bedroom wearing his bad boy boxers (which would probably be sexy on an adult) and a pair of undies on his head. Kicking myself now that i was laughing too much to take a picture! So keep your eye on those magazines...my boy is going to be famous!!!

I said to Gary this morning, when telling him that story, that the best thing about having so many children is that ONE of them will always make you laugh!!!

GOOD LORDY

where has the time gone?? don't you just hate it when life gets in the way?? ok where to begin..
  • Dad's burial went ok, Pat scattered some of his ashes where he wanted to be buried, took him into the bar, some of him went on the bar where he belongs!!! Dad got his ride on Pat's harley FINALLY lol. It's all over now so not dwelling. I have pics but dont feel like sharing them.
  • SWIG has come and gone. It was great fun, i even participated in the dress up. I went as Darth Vadar. My friend Chris, was Kermit, (yes, i had an asthma attack underneath my helmet when she came out of bathroom, NO she didn't assist me, because everytime she came near me, i laughed and laughed). Mother (heather) came as Jack Sparrow, 2 Ninja Turtles (aka bev and sue) Mrs Mac from HP (christine) Mary, from something about Mary (beryl) The ever so lovely mother from Hairspray (who was FANTASTIC..that would be virginia) National Lampooner (deb b) 2 naughty girls from hairspray (chrissie and sue) the Cowardly Lion (Lucy) and Annie Oakley (bronwyn). Had a fantastic time, lots of laughs. Loved catching up with my swig buddy Ginny!!!! (i have tried to upload pics but it came up with an error asking me to tell them what i was doing when the error occurred, should I have told them that i was putting the veges in the steamer whilst the upload was doing it's thing? WELL, that's what i was doing LOL what a stupid question mr blogger)
  • I HAVE SOLD ALL THE PUPPIES...ohhhhhhh woe....little kostas went about an hour ago, off to Tewantin he has gone! his new owner is a 13 yr old girl, whose daddy bought the puppy as a surprise for her, he's surely going to be very spoilt indeed. She has wanted a boxer since she was 7 her father said. I'm so pleased that both pups went to good homes and will be spoilt rotten! Obah went west somewhere Gary dealt with that sale and forgot to ask all important questions for me! but his new owners have an 8 yr old boxer so i know he will be ok too!
  • ONLY 7 MORE SLEEPS til we get the keys...omg i am now filled with dread that something is going to happen and i am refusing to pack until i have the keys in my hot little hand...i'm full of dread LOL such a pessimist I am.
  • I have to go to docs tomorrow to have my blood pressure taken again, apparently it's very high! little wonder with the drama's here! I also have to have lots of tests done to see if i am ok because my dear doc seems to think i am not! i felt fine until he told me that! Also have to see about my operation on my eyelids to remove a lump from each of them, nothing serious, I just want them OFF. so I'm kind of a bit worried about the doc visit tomorrow because for sure he's going to tell me something nasty That's the way this week seems to be going LOL...see, i told you i was pessimistic, think the worse then it wont happen!!! thats my logic.

Well i think that's all, more drama's naturally happening, but i'm sure in time they'll be resolved. well i hope they will be. Let's just say, I've been dreadfully hurt by a certain young lady, who has broken mine and her father's heart today. and if she's reading this, i hope she realizes JUST what she has done to HER family..

For goodness sake!!

As you all know, my dear father passed away in June, Slowly getting back on track, have a few ups and downs BUT yes, as well you can imagine, it has turned into quite a saga! My darling brother (wave, wave to you kiss kiss) rang me, He has been quite busy arranging poor old Dad's burial. Let me start from the beginning...OK, not quite the beginning, but tell you the story LOL.... Dad's wish was to be cremated and his ashes placed in the wall near the RSL, (yes his beloved RSL) no, not inside the RSL but outside, across the road, they have a memorial wall. My brother looked into this (no not into the wall *sigh* but into having it all done when the time came) anyway all was ok, it could be done. Dad passes away, is cremated, then we get a letter from the RSL, Dad can't be placed in wall, he's not Australian (for heaven's sake, he is a naturalized citizen or whatever you call it, have a piece of paper to show that) BUT no, he didn't serve for 'the country' so he cant be placed in the wall.. OK I have a beef with the RSL anyway, so this just confirms what i think of them (ok no emails about that it's my beef)..SO how come the RSL will have Dad on committees?? take his money every year on membership??? blah blah bloody bull well you know the rest! OK..we'll put him in the memorial garden in the local cemetery no probs, cant fight bureaucracy. WELL..... My brother arranges it all (because I am here and he is there), but I support him with any decision he makes because he makes the best decisions!.. The proof for Dads plaque is sent to my brother for his approval (oh my here is where i start to giggle)..There on the proof is words to the effect of...Here lies Patrick McLoughlin....ROFL...my poor brother nearly had a cardiac, you see, Dad is Peter, my brother is Patrick...mistake mr council man ..ok..mistake rectified and correct name put on plaque! THEN Pat, rings the council to see when they are allowing us to put Dad in the ground. UM well you see says same stupid council man, It's all been done!!! plaque and plot all done, ready for us to view...BECAUSE the stupid man, cant read and thinks that dad has been scattered!! SCATTERED for heaven's sake (no offence to anyone who has been scattered, or wants to be scattered, i have no views on this..but my dad is not scattered..I however am scatter-brained at the moment)... NO..Dad is with me says a rather angry brother!! oh um ok..says SCM. well bring him down here and I'll see to it...WELL my brother hits the roof, tells SCM that in no circumstances is he leaving poor old Dad with him, he'll probably end up in the bin or something. He wants to witness dad going into the ground! cant be done. pigs bum it cant! So at the expense of the council the plaque has been taken up (or should have been we will see). and Dad (hopefully)will be respectfully placed under his plaque. THIS is all happening TOMORROW (friday) Morning 10.30 am Tassie time. 9.30 Qld time. I cant be there, I even tried to get a flight but everything was booked out for today (it was meant to be). SO my brother is texting me as he gets to the cemetary, with Dad in hand, and I will stop work for a little while and say a little prayer. I think i may even take a candle to work with me. SO friends, at 9.30am tomorrow morning, could you all just say a little prayer or just think of us. It's just me and my brother, he's doing it alone down there and i'm doing it alone up here! Sometimes I wonder if we have other siblings!!!!!

sneak peak

Here are some pics of the outside of the new house, cant show the inside as it would be rude of me to showcase the occupants household items LOL..the carport is coming down! deemed unsafe by the building inspector but thats ok..also the big bat (shut up lol) is GOING! I'm sure that a witch owned the house, she had witch things everywhere inside!!! I get to go through it next Saturday to take measurements etc and to see if it has a dishwasher OMG i cant remember and if it doesn't have space for one A SPACE WILL BE MADE BEFORE I MOVE IN!!!! then, fingers crossed we may have the keys on the 23rd instead of the 31st!!! but not to worried if we dont!! Gary is itching to get at the garden and he finally has a shed that doesn't leak!!!!!

still to busy!

It's october already and i'm seriously lacking in blogging updates lately. Still busy packing and organising ready for the garage sale which is now only 2 days away THANK GOD! Puppies went in the paper to sell today too (very sad!).
  • yesterday, I spent all day pricing and sorting stuff, had on my oldest most revolting pink skirt (which once upon a time was lovely LOL) it's one of those flaired ones with like sections (is it called a ra-ra? who knows i got it in England LOL) anyway, it's god ugly but good for sorting in the garage.
  • Miss Emily came for the day (again) and gasped when she saw me, I knew i looked revolting but a gasp??
  • OH NANNA...you look gorgeous, (child is blind), i love it, oh Nanna, can you spin around (why yes i can! nearly passing out in the process) OH Nanna, it's a lovely dancing skirt, can you dance (why i think i can!) OH NANNA you look so lovely..just like Dorothy the Dinosaur!!!!!
  • NOW i'm wondering, does Dorothy own a pink skirt?? or am i FAT AND GREEN WITH YELLOW SPOTS???
  • Today she asked me why i wasn't wearing HER pretty skirt...i'm thinking of giving it to her for dressups!!!

*ETA*...there will be no photo's ladies LOL the skirt is not the best photo taking material LOL and well you all know i'm fat like dorothy!!!....and now i have the damn dorothy the dinosaur song stuck in my head

to busy to blog!

What a hectic few weeks!! The news is...we are moving..sooner than expected...the contract on our new house went unconditional TODAY so..*insert big scream here* we are busy organising and decluttering...the garage sale is next week and we should find out by the end of next week (if not this week) when hand-over is. To say I'm excited is a little understatement. BUT I'm also a little sad about leaving this house. We've lived here for nearly 16 years, I gave birth to Cameron, just over there <---------*pointing to the lounge lol*, raised 5 kids and countless animals (and that's just their friends lol)...but it's time for us to open up a new chapter in our lives and that is exciting!.. Had a little giggle listening to the boys (who are very upset that our new house doesn't have stairs! they have always wanted to live in a house with stairs!! oops, too bad)...anyway, they were talking about moving and Aaryn was very concerned that we wouldn't take the dogs, Cameron re-assured him that yes we would take them, but not the puppies, we move after they are sold..that problem solved..Aaryn then asked him if perhaps we could take Bruce..Cam said he couldn't see why not and not to worry about that either, there are 2 shovels, they could both move him together...OK..OK...worried now...I had to intervene...before they got the shovels!!..I told them that although we loved Bruce, he couldn't come with us. Why not??? well, he isnt' there anymore...Where is he??? oh i dont know...ask Dad!!! problem solved!!..Who is Bruce?? well, he's our dog who died in August 2005..oh yes indeed, the little darling were all set to dig the poor animal up and put him in a box to bring with us!! They had me worried for a while there...I saw Aaryn down the backyard earlier, explaining to Bruce that although we still love him, he is just 'goop' now and so we cant take him with us..(gee thanks DAD for that great explanation of why the dog can't come!) but we will take his cross with us so they wont forget him... I dont know when I'll be back to update..although I do find the time to update Scrap the Stuff everyday...SO, keep sending me those layouts, i'm really enjoying looking at them...This month's competition is nearly finished, The voting starts on Monday..THEN I shall be announcing Octobers monthly competition (a great Idea from Sharon!!! thanks sharon) and the prize is looking to be a good one too!!!!

slack I am!

I am so slack, just haven't had time to update what with cleaning out stuff ready for the garage sale (which will be in 2 weeks!). ANYWAY.. Last night, the boys went to the school disco SO, Gary and I decided we'd grab a takeaway and have it at the beach, Got to a little Thai restaurant, went inside to order, it looked so damn cute and comfortable in there, we ended up eating in, something we certainly haven't done for a very long time! The meal was delish and the price was even better! I certainly thought it would have been dreadfully expensive especially since Gary insisted on buying a bottle of wine which as you know after 2 glasses i'm usually legless, but last night i wasn't! It actually took 4 glasses LOL..We had money bags for starters, very delish, just a fancy name for fancy wontons and then we had Pad Thai, i had prawns and G had pork, YUM (but Cafe de Orient at Palmwoods still wins for most delish pad thai)..Authentic Thai, have non-english speaking Thai's as waiters/waitress (i mean that nicely LOL it was nice to be bowed at every few minutes), anyway, Gary has trouble understanding people who dont speak English very well so I had to order WHAT a laugh, i couldn't get my tongue around, Pork and Prawn and kept laughing (only had 1 glass of wine then lol) I kept saying to the guy, yes yes, PRORK and Pawn he then thought i was taking the piss out of him i'm sure and was getting upset, so in the end i just flashed him a smile and winked (much to gary's amusement) and said, hang on I'll start again, so finally managed to say to him one Pork Pad Thai and one Prawn Pad Thai, to which he replied ahhh yes, one prork and one pawn...that made me lose it..anyway the meal was superb and definately going back there again AND we were out with plenty of time to pick the kids up at 9! Picked the boys up and they were hyped up...Aaryn was very excited, he said..Mum I think I have a girlfriend!! poor child, only thinks he does..apparently his little friend danced with him all night, showed him a few 'kewl' moves (like kicking back your leg, while holding hand up in air with finger pointed, it's called break dancing you know!) and then he gave her all his spending money but she went 'psycho' because she drank too much soft drink and then wanted to kiss him! (my goodness!!)..I'm sure the child never drew breath until we got to the car. Then Cam started, I couldn't even look at Gary on the way home for fear of laughing too loud!..Cam said he couldn't wait for the last day of year seven because everyone is going to expose who they really like etc, but he doesn't need to because ALL the girls just love him, and why he has even kissed one (ewwww), Aaryn told him that kissing his mother didn't count (awww)!!! Cam has decided that when he goes to highschool he can go to blue light disco's every friday night and he can PASH yes PASH any girl he wants too, he also explained to us what Pash meant..yes it involves tongues (aaryn goes...EWWWWW) Gary says..KEWL can I take mum and Pash her?? and Cam replies...No dad, you will cramp my style and i dont want you watching me pash! By this time i was nearly purple from holding in laughter! Couldn't help myself when Aaryn whispered over to Cameron, "old people sex"...where do they get all this from????? GOD they think we are old!!!!

something for Sunday

Nothing much to blog about, been very busy organising and sorting through the whole house in preparation for the garage sale and impending move to new house if it ever happens! the way gary is cleaning out you would think we were moving tomorrow, we haven't even started to look for a house to buy yet LOL..but at least we'll be prepared when it all happens! Tina came over, hijacked my camera and took some 'baby' photos. She's biased, she only took pics of one puppy! this is Obah, or is his name Mika? or is it George? everyone has a different name for him, lol, the other pup is plain brown with a black face, looks just like his mum. This one looks exactly like his dad..ANYONE want to buy a boxer puppy?? or 2? lol...shall take pics of Kostas, or mika or george (whatever his name is) later, too tired right now and he's asleep!

amazing home remedies

  1. If you are choking on an ice cube simply pour a cup of boiling water down your throat. Presto! The blockage will instantly remove itself
  2. Avoid cutting yourself slicing vegetables by getting someone else to hold while you chop.
  3. Avoid arguments with your wife about lifting the toilet seat by using the sink.
  4. For high blood pressure sufferers: simply cut yourself and bleed for a few minutes, thus reducing the pressure in your veins. Remember to use a timer.
  5. A mouse trap, placed on top of your alarm clock will prevent you from rolling over and going back to sleep after you hit the snooze button.
  6. If you have a bad cough, take a large dose of laxatives, after which you will be afraid to cough.
  7. You only need two tools in life - WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move you should, use the WD-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.
  8. Remember: Everyone seems normal until you get to know themAnd one last thought for the day -

And remember

Some people are like slinkies - not really good for anything, but they bring a smile to your face when pushed down the stairs.

White Picket Fences & other myths!

This poem, was written for me i'm sure! Sally Meyers has an autistic son and writes inspiring Poetry. I love her writing. It helps me when i'm down and having a bad "asperger's day" and as i've had quite a few these last few week, i felt it time to drag out her book of poems to get me through this week.. I'm going to be sharing her work a little bit this week so watch out! This is my Aspie boy! Cameron...nearly 12, going into highschool next year, full on, drives me mental BUT he's my Aspie boy and I loves him and his little eccentricities, without them, he wouldn't be HIM and now i feel a layout coming on OH BOY lol...
There are days when I feel alone
when life is so different
than I imagined.
Of course I wanted thewhite picket fence,
the two kids, and the dog.Who doesnt?
But dreams are like that,
they disapear in the morning of life,
and we wake to reality.
with a thumpas we fall
out of ourbed of roses.
Is it silly to still dream?
is it naiveto ponder?
I sit sometimes on my porch
when the house is still, reflecting on these last few years,
when that little boywandered into our lives.
Oh how he wanders!l
ike a pixie, an elf,
a wonderful little creature
who fascinates andterrifies us all.
Who can know him?
does he know himself?
Who is he, and where is the key
to unlock,
to discover,
to hold,
and to find?
Oh yes, I wanted it all back then,
before he came,
I didn't realize that his coming would change me so,
that a small boy could work his way into my heart,
twisting it somewhat tearing it sometimes,
but finding his place, nonetheless.
And I still can dream,
despite the sadness,
in spite of the pain,
I dream in color now,
back then it was all
blackand whitepicket fences.
Asperger's is not the end of the World. . . .
just the beginning of a new one.
