to a very mortified Aaryn and also to Jackie who pointed out I hadn’t been here!! When in fact we’d stopped here for lunch!
THE BIG PRAWN..BALLINA!!
WELCOME, to my little place in cyberspace! pull up a comfy chair, have a coffee, piece of cake (chocolate yum) and enjoy!
to a very mortified Aaryn and also to Jackie who pointed out I hadn’t been here!! When in fact we’d stopped here for lunch!
THE BIG PRAWN..BALLINA!!
Or should that be Lunatic Park???? lol
We caught the ferry from Darling Harbour, over to Luna Park, the boys were beside themselves with excitement..Ok, Cam, (THE BRAVE), was beside himself, Aaryn, (THE MEEK) was trembling in his boots! He takes after his mother you see, not liking anything that is too fast, too high, too scary, you get the picture OBVIOUSLY one shouldn’t go to theme parks with this fear LOL.
Firstly i must say, for those of you who have never been here, if in Sydney, You must go! it’s such a good cheap day out, much cheaper than Dreamworld and dare I say more fun! Free entry and if parents are chicken recovering from operations LOL, all you have to do is pay for the pass for the kids, all up we spent less than $100 which included food, rides and sideshow alley! OK…my sales pitch is over!
First things first..Cam, The Brave, scoped the area, which ride to go on, he didn’t know what to do, where to start LOL, He was mortified that Aaryn The Meek, wouldn’t go on any rides, that was until The Brave one had tested them first, if he came out alive and not vomiting! The Meek became the semi-Brave and went on them LOL not a bad move I’m thinking..that boy will go far!
All in all, the boys had a great day, and we had to drag them back to the ferry so we wouldn’t miss our bus….which..we missed anyway LOL…
Aaryn The Meek….oh yes, you can see the OMG look on his face LOL
Cam, The Brave…no fear whatsoever!
The Meek being just a little bit brave!!
Ahh YES!! this is more The Meek’s style, Dodgem Cars..he loves them..what boy doesn’t?? may I say I have never in my life been on a dodgem car and have no intentions of ever doing so!
You don’t need to be told who is inside of this!
UMM yes, it’s stopped! upside down..WITH MY CHILD INSIDE!!!
And Back down again…can you see the Brave one, sticking his head out for his photo to be taken! this thing was going around and around so fast, i was nearly sick watching it! The brave one, got off, ran around the the gate and got back on, 7, yes 7 times in a row…then went back on it again a few times before we left!
The Meek, doesn’t look so brave hey LOL..check the physics of this ride..note where the Meek is sitting…..
ANY closer he’d be on his knee, apparently gravity pulls you to one side…or so they say LOL…
OK so we aren’t so gunho brave when we don’t realize mum’s watching LOL looks more like OH HELP i’m going to vomit!
The boys had a huge giggle in Coney Island, every time they looked at us, they would burst out laughing, so Cam took our photo….
I have lerverly legs..and check out the husbands skirt LOL
The Meek one, talked Cam into going onto the ever so mild Ferris Wheel, on the way, we saw this…
Yes, I like to dress in my finest frock and suit when going to a funfair, don’t you?? Seriously, there was a wedding there, the bride was gorgeous in her blood red (yes, blood red) dress, with her bridesmaids in white..that certainly confused me for a while! didn’t get pics of them, my camera was at the top of the ferris wheel! it did look funny seeing men in suits going on all the rides though!
Ok, onto the Ferris wheel, i reluctantly handed my camera to The Brave, who was going to take pics at the top!
he did a not too bad job..
You may be forgiven for thinking that this is a photo of me and the husband waiting for my camera to arrive safely on the ground…what you don’t see in this photo is the spitball that cam spat down to the ground and then tried to photograph.! nor do you see the person that the spitball landed on!
and finally what would a day at Luna park be like without the giant mouth!!! No NOT Cameron, but Luna herself or himself, i’m not sure on the gender lol
Well, that’s it for now..and I can hear you say..Thank God for that!!
I have heaps more photo’s to sort..there is still Taronga Zoo to go etc and then HI-HO onto Canberra…I need coffee and something to eat now..this has been mammoth LOL
In no particular order! Just what pops into my head at the time of writing!
Darling Harbour!
Our first introduction to Darling Harbour was the not to bad looking Pommie street Busker named
PSYCHO SAM
He was really entertaining, he put a rubber glove on his head and blew it up, he kept blowing and blowing until it burst..I bet you wished you could do that!
Next he blew up a long skinny balloon and proceeded to swallow it…I don’t know when he realized he had this talent, but it was interesting to watch AND i’m still waiting for him to bring the balloon back up LOL
Lastly he decided to get the audience involved. Always fun to watch those poor people get pulled out and have to help!
He got a ladder from god only knows where, selected 2 guys from the audience to come to the front and hold the ladder straight by pulling on some ropes..then proceeded to choose his next victims participants! Firstly he chose a man on his left, then he chose a little boy in front of him, then walking over to his right, he says, “Oh I choose this lovely lady here” I looks around and there is no lovely lady standing behind me, I look back and he’s standing right in front of me laughing I says' “OMFG ME??” and he just nods up and down giggling..I was MORTIFIED. He hands me a torch and winked and said ‘You’ll be fine, just follow my instructions”
I handed Cam the camera with strict instructions..GET A PHOTO OF ME DOING MY ACT which incidentally he forgot to do as he was laughing too much!
My moment of fame..NOTE..UNPHOTOGRAPHED DUE TO SELFISH CHILDREN!! Psycho Sam, climbed to the top of the ladder, beckoned to me to step out from behind the husband i was hiding behind and toss the torch up to him at the top of the ladder AND please…don’t miss…AND would the audience please clap whilst I am doing this!! Out I steps and tosses it up, nearly knocking him off the ladder in the process, receiving a huge round of applause from the audience who were all probably thinking hahahaha what a plonker! He then asked the man to throw his torch up…hahaha the idiot missed him not once but 3 times making me feel much better!! Then the little boy threw his torch up, he missed to but heck, he was only 7!
Once he had the 3 torches up there, he lit them and then proceeded to put 2 spoons into his eye sockets as a blindfold I told you he was Psycho! He then started to juggle..AMAZING!!
Hell, those torches are on fire and he didn’t burn himself once, if i’d tried that, not only would i have burnt myself but also burnt Darling Harbour down LOL…
There was heaps more we did at D.H but, nothing beats….PSYCHO SAM!
SO many adventures! so I’ll break it up into stages which may be easier!
HUGE
Everything in Oz is big, and Aaryn decided early on in the trip that he would have his photo taken near everything he saw that was HUGE..Well should I say, he would have his photo taken next to what his father would stop at! ….Other’s were taken as we sped past!!
Needless to say, Aaryn was rather peeved that his father didn’t stop at every single one and was also peeved when Cam would jump into the picture!
SO without further ado..here is Aaryn on his personal quest
Big Pineapple Nambour near our house!
Big Avocado NSW
Big Oyster Taree
Big Knight NSW
Big Rock Near Newcastle NSW
Big Golden Guitar Tamworth NSW
Big Merino Goulburn NSW
and finally, , yes you know i just have to share and how typical of Cam to be the one to have his pic taken with it…
MERINO’S BIG BALLS….ONLY IN OZ!!!
It’s been an exhausting 2 weeks, travelling around the countryside like vagabond gypsy’s..But we are home now and life resumes with me starting back to work today *sigh*..
Firstly I won’t blog about the holiday today, I’ll leave that for tomorrow (yes, I have a list of things to do and I will stick to that list!),
Secondly..I think I need to update on what has happened since May!
so here we go…
14th May ..
saw the arrival of this little man
My new grandson Harry Maxwell, so very proud!!
I was at his birth and Tina and Zeb asked me if I would like to cut the cord! So glad they trusted me enough to do that!
May 17th..
My step Brother Lee was killed in a log truck accident. He fell asleep whilst driving his fully laden truck, the truck rolled but fell against the side of the mountain and he was killed instantly (so they say!). SO I choofed off down to Tassie for his funeral. Very sad indeed.
This is the last photo taken of Lee, on his birthday, which was the 15th May, just 4 short days before he died.
*Edited to add*
June 2nd
My Cousin Jimmy, was found dead in his unit, Tragic! We used to be real close at teenagers, needless to say we always got into such strife together LOL..We drifted apart as we got older, but one good thing came from his passing. I have been reunited with his sister also my cousin funny that! Yvonne, we spend hours on the phone, reminiscing etc and chat away on Facebook, like we’ve never been apart.
*end Edit*
June 12th…
saw this little lady arrive….
Miss Syenna Rose..the newest grand-daughter…
Hayley and Ben asked me if i would like to get down the business end and actually catch her! I have to admit to having my heart race so fast i thought i was going to hyperventilate! i was so nervous that I would drop her etc, but it all happened to fast and NO i didn’t drop her, She was delivered into my safe hands and I handed her up to her mum and dad, whilst bawling my eyes out!
July 12th…..
saw the arrival of this little lady….
Miss Poppy Lyn McLoughlin….my newest niece. seen here with her adoring aunty!! (me lol) Such a special little girl, Pat and Heidi are besotted with her, and who could blame them, she is sooooo adorable!
I marvel over the wonders of IVF and the miracle that brings life…*sigh*
whilst on the subject of babies…
this little cutie was born july 4th
Luk Chi the first baby elephant to be born in captivity at Taronga zoo Sydney..so damn cute, not unlike a human baby really, well except perhaps for the trunk! he has 2 speeds..flat out and stop! I loved how he tormented his mother, by climbing all over her, when she’d had enough, she flipped him off with her trunk as all good mothers do! and he, like all babies, came back for seconds…Kept me amused for a ages LOL
That’s it for now..time to get ready to return to work! Silly isn’t it, i return today, then have 2 days off, to return on Thursday until Saturday! I should have told them I’d return on Thursday..oh well…too late now!
I shall return tomorrow with a holiday update…be warned…it will be long.. I only took 1500 photo’s…dont worry I’ll only share 700 LOL
Both boys now want to be supermodel's after watching the show Make me a Supermodel. They have decided it's not woosy or girly to have your photo taken and now enjoy photoshoots.
SO today, they had to try on their suits for the wedding, Cam pushed the chair away and got them organised then ordered me to take photo's! who am I to not oblige..
so without further ado..
Make me a supermodel...(i think they need heaps more practice lol)
they both tried to remain, composed and relaxed, Aaryn looks terrified in some shots LOL i hope the wedding pics come out better!
and the photo's that weren't supposed to be shown??
and yes, I will be taking his trousers to the tailor to be taken up LOL and yes they will wear shoes on the day!
